All Star Funk Review and Crawfish Boil
The much loved Fat Bankers Crawfish Boil & All Star Funk Powered Fat Groove Review occurs Sunday at the Voodoo Doo Two. You can watch Bacchus, gorge on crawfish, and enjoy an All Star Funk Review all in one place Who loves ya, baby?. The festivities—remember Mardi Gras is a marathon not a sprint—begin when the first band takes the stage at 6:00 p.m. and rolls through the end of Bacchus (late Sunday night), the parade route of which is a one-block walk from the Voodoo Two. The All Star Funk Review is produced by our Ambassadeur du Funke, Christian Duque, the leader of Soul Project and a well-known New Orleans musician and producer. Christian always puts together a terrific event, featuring nationally known musicians and bands. The playbill is never fully known until the day of the event; however, we know it willfeature at least four bands, often with members of each sitting in on one another’s sets. Past performers have included members of the New Mastersounds, Soulive, the New Orleans Suspects, Jimmy Herring’s backup band, Pimps of Joytime, Jason Neville Funky Soul Band, and many others. It’s a casual and fun evening for performers and fans alike with sterling musicianship and great comradery.. This is a show you will not want to miss.
The event is free for All Fat Bankers and for their family, friends, and fools.
